Specification

Education

• Bachelors Degree in any discipline (Engineering or Airport Management preferred)
• Masters Degree in Aviation Management preferred
• College degree holders acceptable if candidate can demonstrate 8 years in aviation operational role with 3 years at a supervisory level.


Experience

• 5 years in similar aviation operational role (preferred)
• Proven track record in a leading role
• Previous ORAT experience is an advantage

Skills

• Fluent in English (spoken and written)
• Sound judgment based on airport operations and business partner priorities
 

Description

Responsible for setting the strategic direction, working with ORAT team and developing and implementing Standard Operating Procedures for Terminal and Airside operations in connection with the new airport development in Salalah.

Responsibilities

1. Interact with the ORAT project team concerning the new Salalah Airport Developments in all Terminal/ Airside aspects including but not limited to
2. Review the operational concepts for terminal and airside operations prepared by Munich Consulting and provide advice as necessary,
3. Write the standard operating procedures for terminal and airside operations  including KPIs and SLAs as necessary
4. Ensure Operations Centre requirements and links taken into account
5. Provide input for the recruitment and training of Salalah Operations staff for the operation of the systems
6. Provide training and mentoring as required for Salalah Operations staff.
7. Provide operational input for the commissioning of the systems by the contractor.
8. Mentor and train an Omani  to take over responsibility for Senior Operations Specialist in the future.
9. Leadership and preparation of the OAMC team for terminal and airside readiness trials, take-over of the systems, and on-going terminal and airside operations
10. Provide input and guide operations team in Business Simulation trials to ensure the smooth opening and continued running of the new terminal
11. Provide input on terminal and airside Emergency Management plans/ Airport crisis management in case of a major incident or accident including preparedness and long-term recovery plans, applying industry best practices.
12. Liaise and coordinate with OAMC department heads and all airport users/stakeholders  to ensure  integrated solutions and clear communication channels with all concerned including all business needs understood and addressed.
13. Provide input to Readiness System Engineer concerning Operations related equipment
14. Provide leadership and ensure team participation/training in all operations related systems
15. Ensure all airport users are fully engaged in the implementation of applicable terminal and airside equipment, ensuring training of staff, participation in business simulation trials and smooth opening of terminal by all users.
